I'm tired of capitalism getting a bad rap from anti-capitalist haters like him.  I couldn't agree LESS with his famous quote "No one can earn a million dollars honestly."

It's not a perfect system but capitalism makes the profits and surpluses that enable comfort, progress, education, innovation, and generosity in our society.

Why Waiting Can Crush Your Dreams

There will never be a "perfect" time for your startup.  But starting today is better than starting tomorrow.

It's an Embarrassing Natural Urge…

Do you suffer from this embarrassing "natural urge", too?  I mean the urge to try to "get rich quick".

Gurus everywhere promise overnight success if only you buy their expensive courses and CD sets.  A "fast track" to wealth and happiness can apparently be yours as long as you share your credit card info ASAP!

Buying Things is No Substitute for Action!
But we both know that real success comes from taking action, even if it's just one small step after another.  There's no magic to fulfilling the get rich quick urge - you need to lay the proper foundation to prepare for success and the freedom we all crave. 

 

Buying stuff feels like progress but don't let it substitute for taking action in pursuit of your own Internet Riches.

What Politicians can Teach You about Marketing...

Politicians are masters of marketing. To get customer attention in a crowded marketplace, take a lesson from politicians!

Although it would be nice to think that politicians spend most of their time trying to improve our society, the fact is that they spend most of their time selling.

Like politicians, you need to be spending at least 50% of your time telling your story to voters (aka customers), too. This fun video shares tips on how politics can teach you to improve your marketing strategies to attract more customers.

Some of the points I make in this video include:

• Your product may be superior but it's up to you to tell your story – no one else is going to.

• Like politicians, you need to demonstrate repeatedly to voters (customers) "what's in it for them".  The hard work you put into the product, the many clever features you built into it – those don’t matter nearly as much as how the customer perceives it's going to benefit him or her personally.

• Your customers probably research your products even less than they do politicians.

• Both voters and your customers make purchasing decisions based on the info they can acquire most easily and that seems most likely to solve their problems.

• And, politicians understand better than most of us online marketers that voters are busy, in a hurry. So politicians focus on creating catchy, short messages that spread news of those benefits easily through short ads and word of mouth.

Most of us operate on assumptions that were programmed into us when we were small.  Then our expectations are conditioned by the supposed "overnight successes" that the TV bombards us with.  This can lead to frustration, insecurity, and even a sense of failure.

There may have been disappointments in your past but tomorrow is a new day for you.

How About Increasing Your Expectations for Success Instead?

Instead of allowing life to beat you down and settling for less than you hoped, I'd like to see you upgrade your attitude, lifestyle, and achievement mindset instead.  In this video I'm not talking about wishy-washy "manifesting abundance" philosophies.  It's not the "Law of Attraction" at work, it's just common sense that you can do better IF you expect better.

More positive expectations today can lead to more self-confidence.  That leads to greater self-assurance and further progress toward success.
