I want to build a website where the customer search for a specific product and it goes to different manufacturers websites, extract the information about that specific product and list them on a page. The is more based on efficiency model you talked about in your book. Now is there any specific book or website, which I can consult, to design the website with this search function. I have some technical background so want to design the whole thing myself to keep the initial cost low.
Thanks in advance,
With best regards,

I have a windows desktop application I had someone on Rentacoder make for me. I want to hire another programmer to convert it into a PHP web-based application. I *think* there is a market for it, but I am not certain what to do to make sure. I have done some key word research, and there are buyers of related products, but maybe I need to think hard about my product's positioning before I buy a domain name, etc. I'm not sure how to determine possible market demand for my product, beyond keyword research.

I went to 2 Storesonline seminars and learned a great deal. Between the two seminars, I purchased your book along with a couple of others and want to start my own on-line business. I am very glad I started reading your book before dropping thousands of dollars for Storesonline's program. A lot of it I can do myself at very little cost. It will take a lot of WORK which I'm not scared of, it's the fear of the unknown.
I want to sell and drop ship products to start, then possibly work on affiliates. I haven't done any research as to my niche but thinking about cat products to start, especially urine cleaning, food and toys. I am very passionate about my furbaby.
Thank you for the book, "Internet Riches", it's very informative. I'm marked it with sticky's and yellow highlighter for reference again.

I am having trouble deciding what type of online business to start. I have been contacting a lot of people and am inundated with many emails every day describing all kinds of ways of making money on the web! I have your checklist from the first book and also now have an online web business for dummies book which is helpful but the emails I get are even more advanced than the book. (I have your 2 books as well but I have not read them over to cover) Any suggestions?

Hello Mohit,
Welcome to ScottFox.com!
It sounds to me like you are talking about building a product search engine.
If that’s correct, I would look to the web for more info. Sites like nextag.com, dealtime.com, retrevo.com, and wize.com have already solved many of the issues you’re likely considering.
You don’t want to copy anyone else but seeing how they architect their sites, display info, and make money can provide you valuable insights for your own business. You could take the best features of each to create a product blueprint of your own based on your own idea and customized for your audience.
Combine that with your own technical skills and you should have a good start.
I hope that helps!
Scott
Hi Vicki,
Sounds exciting! I think you’re very smart to do some market research before doubling-down on this new product investment.
To test its customer appeal, how about setting up a free advertising account on Google Adwords or Facebook? You could create some inexpensive text ads and vary the ad copy to see what people click on the most.
Or even advertise to offer an incentive or prize to people who take a short survey about your products.
Even 10 or 15 responses could be very valuable to you at this formative stage of your venture.
Please keep me posted and let me know how I can help you.
Welcome Mary,
Wow, I don’t know these “Storesonline” people at all but I hear nothing but bad things unfortunately. More than one of my ClickMillionaires.com private coaching site members have said they were greatly disappointed in the Storesonline service, too.
It sounds like you have a valuable niche picked out already. I’m glad that Internet Riches was helpful to you in getting started!
Hello Bob,
This is a great question. BUT, since you are a ClickMillionaires.com member already, why don’t you post in our private Forum at http://www.ClickMillionaires.com?
That way we can discuss it in more detail and personalize the strategy for you, plus you’ll get additional helpful feedback from other friendly Click Millionaires members from all over the world.
See you soon at www.ClickMillionaires.com!

A friend and I have started on online store and are conducting home parties locally. Due to the nature of our products competition is very high in every aspect of the business from pay-per-click fees to pricing of products and shipping fees.
We want to be known for personalized customer service, but need to have customers before we can be appreciated and talked about.
We're looking for affordable strategies to increase traffic to our website, to convert traffic to sales, and to book more parties locally.
We're not sure how calls-to-action work to convert window shoppers to customers without coming across as cheesy, gimicky, or obnoxious ... unless we put up money for classy direct advertising.

I am starting a business featuring "Green" products and services. I'm hoping to build a site that has the latest info on household and office products that are better for the environment coupled with lifestyle suggestions for lowering your carbon footprint and healthier personal choices. I would like to collaborate with other like minded businesses and writers to create educational materials for all age groups.

Hi Kathy,
Have you read my book, e-Riches 2.0 yet? It is 25 chapters of affordable online marketing strategies that could be very helpful to you.
Especially since you have picked a competitive niche, it sounds like you'll want to have your strategy straight before diving too deeply into those expensive waters...
Sorry for the sales pitch but you should also consider joining http://www.ClickMillionaires.com. These are exactly the sorts of issues we discuss there all day long. As a member you can get more personalized advice from me, and from other members worldwide, too.

Posted by: Akinwande | June 16, 2010 at 02:02 PM
Hi Akinwande,
Unfortunately I am not a "get rich quick" guy. So I don't have an immediate solution to offer for your $1000/month need.
Have you read my first book, Internet Riches? It's a best-seller world wide because it helps people walk through their own backgrounds to find promising business opportunities.
Given your 3 years of experience online, what needs have you noticed? Crossing the problem-solving needs of real customers with your own interests/skills is usually a good place to start.
I hope that helps. Thanks for visiting.

Sounds like I need to read your book Internet Riches. As others have stated here, I am looking for a way to earn money online. I look forward to reading your books now, too!

I've been reading your book "Internet Riches". I want to build a website for my business and sell key products from vendors that we already have relationships with and have these products dropshipped to my online customers. I know which products I'd like to sell on the site but don't know what site building vendor to use. I called Ipowerweb.com this morning (before I read that you revoked the endorsement) and they were more interested in selling me their "big money" web design solution. I need to keep the cost low, so I need to find a way to do this myself. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I have about 3 other different ideas for websites also. So, I'd like to find the right vendor and stick with it.
Thanks

Yes, please do check out Internet Riches. It sounds like just what you need. I wrote it for people just like you.
Hello Marta,
If you’re interested in Affiliate Marketing, I recommend listening to the podcast I posted last week. It’s all about the best affiliate marketing program I work with called SBI. Check it out here – it’s an hour of great free info that I think could help you a lot: http://www.scottfox.com/2010/06/how-to-make-money-with-affiliate-marketing-sbi.html
Welcome Jack,
Happy to have you here, too. Please subscribe to my free email newsletters. That way you’ll get doses of my best e-business success advice delivered right to your inbox for free.
Hi Nadine,
If your definition of dropshipping means linking to other sites that take the orders for you, then any web site building solution will probably work. If you are going to take the orders yourself, however, I would look at store-specific platforms like Yahoo Stores or Shopify to get started.
Thank you all for visiting and commenting.

Actually I purchased your book on yesterday and read the whole book. It was very interesting and right now I'm trying to find a niche and go with it and then use a website template. I'm a teacher and mother with 5 kids and yes I need and must have financial freedom. When I become successful like you I want to be like you which includes consulting, public speaking, and write a book. You are such an inspiration.

Hello Dennis,
I recommend SiteSell as an affiliate because I don't offer site-building tools as a product myself. If you click on the Site Build It links on my site, I will get an affiliate commission for that recommendation.
SBI is the best web site building/training solution I have found. That's why I recommend it.
Hi Arnetta,
Wow - you must be a quick reader! I'm glad that you enjoyed Internet Riches so much.
I look forward to hearing more from you and how I can help.

Hi Scott,
I've been selling online since 2005. I produce ebooks on learning jazz improvisation through musicial exercises and patterns. One of my books is very successful. Others, so-so, but that's ok. I've also been building a membership site on saxophone and jazz improvisation (since Feb 2009) but that has been going really slow. I'm looking for ways to make more sales, create bonuses, work more effectively with my VA (since May 2010), expand my business to provide a comfortable (if not obnoxious) passive income.

I am trying to decide whether to do an information site, e-book, blog, or affiliate marketing - or maybe all of the above at some point. Obviously my issue right now is identifying a promising direction and focusing all my efforts on that. To that end, I listened to one of your videos online that said to do the following when assessing demand: Talk to people, Surveys, Google traffic counts for keywords and text ads. My question right now is what do I do with that information once I've got it? How do I know what's good, mediocre or bad?
Posted by: Lisa Gerard | July 06, 2010 at 07:39 PM
I have been interested in starting an on-line business and have started several times. I don't yet understand all the technology and become overwhelmed. After listening to your audiobook, "Internet Riches", I feel more confident and am looking forward to moving past my road blocks. Thanks for the inspiration and great book. I look forward to reading your new book.

Welcome Lanny – I hope you have a good vacation. I’ll still be here when you get back!
Hello Lisa,
The results of those exercises will tell you what’s good, mediocre, or bad. Surveys in particular can help you get feedback from real people who could be your potential customers. If those people are interested in buying, you’re off to a good start. Then you can use the traffic estimators to get an idea of how many people are looking for those solutions daily to estimate the size of the market. Then running text ads can help you confirm that interest and the demand levels.
I hope that helps.
If you’d like more details, send us a question at www.AskScottFox.com for me to answer in a future Click Millionaires Show. Or, better yet, come try ClickMillionaires.com to discuss more thoroughly in the members forum with both me and other members.

Hi Scott,
I have just begun my journey as an internet marketer and have a website selling teeth whiteners and bad breath remedies. I have had the website up and running for over a month and am struggling to come to terms with the things I need to do to get the traffic coming. I was trained by a company that trains people to set up a business online from scratch, but they only gave me lessons to create the website, as we ran out of time (they only gave a set number of sessions). I paid way too much for their training and wish I could have found someone earlier who could have done better and charged less.
I haven't made a sale yet and I guess I am a bit all over the place and keep searching for the easy fixes, but they don't work (and I keep wasting money). I am trying to get my head around SEO and am trying to work smart. I got your website from Joel Comm as I just bought his book "Kaching". I am hoping to network a bit better and try to cut through the bull and get on the right track.

Hi Scott
I am compiling an ebook for stories, poems, photos from Greyhound owners and it will be sold online to raise funds for 10 Greyhound rehoming Charities in UK, USA and Canada. Any marketing tips would be helpful. I am asking owners to submit anything they would like to see in print, they donate £3 and can submit whatever they want and in return they get an exclusive greetings card design by Simone Carline Carter so they can make their own greetings cards for family and friends. The take up so far is quite slow even tho Im promoting it on greyhound forums, facebook, twitter and press release feeds. Closing date for submissions is 20th August so any ideas for increasing input would be great or else I will be doing a LOT of writing! Then all I have to do is work out how to use Master documents in Word to put the book together, pdf the file, get it on sale, attract customers and I would also like to get it into a hard copy format so people can buy it for a Christmas gift so will need a print on demand service. The book is the Great Greyhound Book and details can be found at www.greyhounds4me.co.uk/9.html
Many thanks

Posted by: maxwell | August 06, 2010 at 02:30 AM
Hi Val,
Thanks for visiting. That sounds like a worthy charity you are supporting but your approach is a challenging one. If I'm understanding you correctly, you have picked a very narrow niche, with a very specific product, and one that requires the purchaser to take action well past simply buying something. If you are already marketing in the online forums related to your topic (good job!) but finding little success, I think your offer may be more the issue than your marketing. A simpler value proposition (both to explain and to participate in) might have better uptake.
Hello Maxwell,
That's a pretty big question! Have you read either of my books? Those are good places to start, especially if you are new to Internet business. Of course, this blog has lots of free info, too.

Hi Scott
Firstly, just wanted to say that your book,"Internet Riches" has been a real inspiration to me as well as being packed with great advice. I'm in the process of launching a wedding suppliers listings website that will hopefully attract couples who are planning their wedding and put them in touch with a wide and diverse range of wedding products and services suppliers. In the UK there are some well established companies who offer this service online, but I have some ideas that I hope will differentiate my site from theirs by offering some usps both to the supplier firms and to the engaged couples. Existing sites that appear to work well are: weddingplanner.co.uk and confetti.co.uk . My problem is this: whilst I really do want to keep my costs down, especially in the early months by using template webpage providers if possible, I doubt that these providers will be able to offer the fairly complex and sizeable web pages that I will need to be able to compete effectively with those existing websites mentioned above. Do you think that firms like iPowerWeb will be able to meet my needs or are there any other low-cost alternatives I can access? What are your thoughts, Scott?
Many thanks in anticipation of your assistance,
Best wishes, Tony Marshall
PS: Looking forward to reading your second book very soon!

Hello Scott
I am currently reading your E-Riches 2.0 book, which is a real eye opener to me. I am a commercial photographer who has completely missed the boat, when it comes to marketing. Still using 'old school' postcard or mailers and wondering why work has virtually dried up .... especially from any potentially new clients.
Your book makes it very obvious where I need to be putting my marketing efforts and I plan to put some of them into action starting with adding a blog to my up and coming website, although I don't have that much to say, to be honest, but, I have to start somewhere.
Best Regards

Hi,
Scott i read your internet riches, great book, i am going to order your other book as well e-riches...
I have been running an affiliate marketing website (http://dietingdetails.com/) for quite sometime, although:
a) I am not getting the type of traffic that i expected
b) I get clicks but no sales conversions so far!!
c) I am not sure what i am doing wrong?
d) I am not sure whether it's a design issue? a website usability issue? lack of traffic? or the lack of conversion of sales?
I would really appreciate your help...in making this venture of mine a profitable one...I know there is money in affiliate marketing, although, i still have not found out what's wrong with my site or what am i doing wrong? in attracting and converting customers? or is it just that the website is not getting enough traffic?
I would really appreciate your help scott...

I want to help teach children about money and encourage adults and schools to get more involved. I want to start a webiste that gets people to start talking about changing our financial habits from children to adults. I don't know how to set my website up so that people pay a small fee to discuss what they know and learn from what I know. How do you charge a membership fee and do you get your site out there?
Posted by: Tamara | August 20, 2010 at 07:08 AM
Welcome Tony,
I'm glad to hear that Internet Riches has been so helpful to you. Your business idea sounds promising.
No, I don’t think templates will meet your needs (especially IPW – I revoked my recommendation of them years ago, FYI).
However, I would seriously consider launching a "not perfect" version of your site using templates first anyway. This will save you a ton of money vs trying to build the "real" version and it will help you test the idea. Odds are very good that you will learn a lot from that simple test that can help you improve on your idea and better differentiate it from competitors, too. Then you can use your money to build a better version of the real site that benefits from your new experience and expertise.
Hello Rodney,
Welcome to online marketing! Yes, postcard marketing still has its place but online is much more cost-effective.
I fully support your "starting somewhere" philosophy. Getting going is the hardest part here, especially if you are new to Internet business.
Keep me posted and let me know how we can help you.
Hi Sanih,
Your site looks pretty good but I think you'd benefit from reducing your product focus to promote a few items more strongly instead of trying to create a supermarket of diet-related items.
People today don’t need more shopping options – there are too many products available at a click of the mouse. They want to know which you recommend and why. If you can make a case for how specific products solve specific problems that will help convince visitors to purchase (and give you stronger keyword positioning for SEO, too).
Since you clearly know how to build a site and stock it well, you're more stuck on the strategy and usability elements of your business. That means you would likely get a lot out of joining my ClickMillionaires.com coaching site. I, and members from all over the world, would be happy to help you discuss and refine your approach in more detail in the Click Millionaires Forum if you'd like.
Hello Tamara,
Your goals sound great. Kids today definitely need to understand finances better.
Charging a membership fee is a great business model but that is a relatively easy technical problem compared to your second question about building an audience.
Have you read my 2nd book, e-Riches 2.0: Next Generation Online Marketing Strategies? That would be a good place to start learning online marketing traffic generation techniques if you haven’t already read it.
Thank you all for visiting and commenting here on ScottFox.com.

Hi Scott,
You asked what my online goals are.
I am a visual artist from Australia, I have a great website. I have been marketing online for about 16mths, you know, Facebook, Twitter, blogs, newsletters, art listing sites, LinkedIn, networking with other artists around the world.
I am getting an increasing following and have even be able to exhibit my artwork in Europe and Dubai. My question is; how do I get more sign ups for my newsletter and blog?
All this work hasn't really equated to sales.
I don't have heaps of time, although I try to do some form of online stuff each day. But it really drains my creative energy, which as an artist is a drawback.
I guess I need some simple things I can do.
I have trouble keeping up with blogging as I also work part time (my job entails me working on the net and marketing also)
any advice would be appreciated.

Greetings Scott-
I'll be ordering the "Internet Riches" book online...I have spent the last year writing booklet guides for saving time, money and aggravation attending games at major league ballparks. Currently I have four completed, with pictures and all (Fenway Park, Yankee Stadium, Citi Field and Citizens Bank Park). Working on several others.
I would like to start a website where people can download PDF versions of these for say, $5 apiece. Don't know how to do much of any of that...like finding web hosts I can trust, encrypting PDF files properly, etc. Do you think the book will be helpful enough, or are there other places you would recommend in addition?
Thanks a bunch for your help.

Getting more signups for your noozle and blog is a marketing challenge for anyone today. It sounds like you have a good start with your social media promotions already.
Have you read e-Riches 2.0 (my latest book)? There are a lot of ideas in there that could be helpful to you.
Also, visit http://www.TrafficBuildingSchool.com. You can sign up there for a free course that could be very helpful to you.
Hello Kurt,
Your business idea sounds like a winner to me. Great niche content with proven demand that is nicely leveraged by the Web's wide geographical reach. Internet Riches will certainly be helpful to you, as will the sequel, e-Riches 2.0: Next Generation Online Marketing Strategies. Once you have read those, I would definitely consider joining my coaching community, too. It's a http://www.ClickMillionaires.com. You have exactly the right kind of idea where the personal support from me and other members from around the world could really accelerate your success online.
Hi Geoff,
Tenerife sounds great! Happy to help you get there. Both of my books (and this blog) are great places for you to start. Internet Riches is written specifically for someone like you who is new to the online business scene, and e-Riches 2.0: Next Generation Online Marketing Strategies will help you learn to market the business you built after reading Internet Riches. (SBI is also good if you're looking to learn how to build a web site with effective SEO from the start.)
Since you are new to all this, I'd simply suggest that you keep reading and then come back with questions/comments. I'd be happy to help.
Thank you all for visiting and commenting.

Hi Scott,
I am looking for anything that would help me to become more successful online monetarily. My Mom and I have already started a website together called "the-san-juan-islands.com" We have not began monetizing yet as we have been focused on building the content of our website. I am open to developing additional websites as well, in order to increase our income potential.
I so clearly see the internet's earning possibilities and desire to tap into those possibilities in order to contribute to our family's income and maybe even eventually replace it. Some would say that that's a pretty tall order seeing as I am currently a homeschool/stay-at-home Mom, but I beg to differ. In addition, I would like to eventually teach my children to get involved in e-business as an option away from the traditional rat race. I desire to teach them, through example and experience, that the sky is the limit and to think outside the box when it comes to making money.
I gratefully look forward to any insights you could share as I make this journey.
Thank you in advance for your support and consideration.

Hi Michelle,
Good for you and your mom! Sounds like a promising venture and approach.
I agree that e-business can be a helpful alternative to the traditional "rat race". It sounds like your kids have a great role model in you (and your mom, too).
Thanks for visiting and I look forward to hearing updates on your progress. Let me know how I can help.
Best,
Scott Fox
