Top post Scott, saw it on your You Tube.
Yes the world sure is big out there. From our Australian base we've some done 'traditional' business in the Asia Pacific Rim region and know how fast mobile communications are developing here , now including even a roll-out in Africa. So I relate especially to your comment on differentiation ........... sourcing product + personal branding to suit the area. Thanks

I just recently came across the website and find it very interesting. The opportunity to access manufacturing companies with various expertise is exciting. I have yet to explore all the site has to offer and think the success gide will be able to provide great insight and simplify navigating the website.

I've visited the alibaba.com site in the pass and found it confusing in trying to evaluate the different manufactures for a given product. I hope the book provides insight into "what to look for" and "what to ask for" in a manufacture - when evaluating that manufacturer for product sourcing. It would put this book over the top in my mind if this was explained.

Thank you all for your comments.
I'm glad to hear that my analysis of the opportunities offered by Alibaba.com made sense to you.

Hi

I came across the site through friend who used it to find cheap flights. In this particular case an Easyjet flight would actually have cost him 10 euros less if purchased through ALIBABA.
Quite frankly with so little a difference I prefer to stick with the original provider, in this case I would deal directly with the airline itself.
I do refer to their site from time to time, but less so than maybe Twenga.com

Scott,

Thanks again for your very interesting presentation on the Alibaba book. It gives me an idea for an intriguing alternative to outsourcing as a way to take advantage of lower production costs in Asia. I will definitely be investigating it. Thanks Scott.

Its the World Wide Web, WWW, so many times we forget that the USA is not the only market. Most of us are overlooking 95% of the world. They focus on us and we forget them.

I'd like to learn about the legal requirements for buying and selling through AliBaba.com

Scott Fox, Host of ClickMillionaires.com

Hi Jafar,

That's a good question.

I looked through the book for you to see what it offers. There is not a specific chapter on legal issues but there is a lot of info on safe trading practices, finding the best partners, and that sort of thing.

My guess is that legal specifics are covered by some boilerplate language on the Alibaba.com web site, plus specifics that you would negotiate with each partner you find there.

If so, that would imply legal coverage specific to each type of goods, each type of transaction, and the jurisdictions of the specific buyer and seller in each case.

In other words, you probably need to work on a specific transaction and consult an attorney on that rather than try to figure out legalities overall in advance.

I hope that helps.

Hi Scott,

I'm setting up an Import/Export business. Alibaba may be a crucial component. I would certainly like to read what this "Alibaba Guide" has to offer.
