You’d like to have enough money to invest and speculate in real estate, right?
Domain names are the Internet's real estate. And buying domains (really leasing them on an annual basis) is a cost-effective way to speculate on virtual real estate if you don't have Donald Trump level real estate investment capital available.
They’re just not making any more .com addresses – just like they’re not making any more beachfront property.
Nobody knows what URLs may be worth in the future but logic suggests that with massively increasing demand for online services, the punchiest and most memorable URLs are going to be worth more and more.
The best part? You can register a domain for less than $10/year! That means you could buy hundreds of domains for less than even one month’s mortgage payment.
If you haven’t already, why don’t you try buying a domain name or two? It's an inexpensive way to stake your claim to a piece of Internet real estate.
What domains to buy?
Buying a domain is a clever way to make money from new saying, made-up word, hip new phrase, or technical term you’ve heard at the office.
Open your ears to the world around you and listen. Pay extra attention when you read, too. New trends are often accompanied by new words - these make great opportunities for domain name purchases. Imagine if you had bought cellphone.com or asbestosinjury.com or webcam.com a few years ago when those trends first emerged?
You can also revisit Chapter 10 of my book, Internet Riches, which discusses domain name creation in depth.
.coms are the strongest but there are good arguments to be made for .tv, .net, .mobi and most of the other domain extensions, too.
Visit my domain name registrar, InternetMillionaireDomains.com, for good prices and service. Or try your own favorite registrar.
Useful Tip: To check the availability of a lot of domains at once, try using the “Bulk Registrations” page at InternetMillionaireDomains.com (It’s in the pull down menu at top under “Domains”.) This great tool will let you enter up to 500 domains at a time to check their availability. So you don’t have to type them all in one at a time. Come up with a big list of variations and just hit go!
